New Meaning of DJR

You see, my husband has always called himself DJR. In fact, there have been times when we would bump into people that call him "Hey, DJR!" So funny!

JR has this habit of beatboxing or making his own (sometimes weird) chants and raps random words in two different languages. (It gets corny sometimes). When he wants to make Ethan stop crying, he would start beatboxing and it makes Ethan quiet. I can't really say he is amused, but it does work, he would stop crying.

Anyway, the other night, it made me realize (once again), how much God has been blessing me. It was a typical evening for me and JR, I was getting ready to sleep when he said "Can I talk to my daughter?" pertaining to my belly, and of course I stopped whatever I was doing and stood still while JR moves his face close to my belly.

He started saying these words:

"Anak, I can't wait to see you. I promise to be a better person and a good daddy. I promise to be a better Christian for you. I love you Anak"

These simple words touched my heart, nag melt pa nga eh. hehe! And I'm pretty sure our baby girl knew and felt it too. I felt so secured and safe. I felt that I got everything that I need at that exact moment. I also realized how much God has been working in our lives that we are getting by each day with lesser worries but bigger dreams.

That night, I slept remembering the journal entry I did many many years ago when I was praying for my future husband. I used to have a journal dedicated to my future husband and I specifically identified the characteristics of the future husband that I want. I think I stopped writing in that journal and totally forgot about it. Looking back, it made me realize how much God has been faithful to my prayers: He gave me exactly what I need. The characteristics that I have requested and prayed for describes JR. One of which is someone who likes to take pictures and be in pictures! hehe! I of course prayed for a Christian - and He gave me just that.

So for me, DJR has a whole new meaning. It now means Daddy JR :)
