The long wait is finally over! Hehehe! By long wait, I mean 3 tries! hehe!
Last week, my baby had his 3rd interview for his US citizenship application. It actually took him 3 tries before he finally became a citizen. The reason being was because of his selective service. On his first try, he was 27. It was only then when he found out that his application for selective service in the past didn't go through. He didn't know at the time that aside from submitting the application for SS, he needed to make a follow up.
On his second attempt (few months before our wedding), he didn't even get to start his exam, the officer immediately told him that he isn't qualified yet because he applied few weeks earlier than he's supposed to. You see, when you're 31, whether you registered or not for selective service, it will no longer be an issue when applying for your US citizenship. But in JR's case, he was few weeks early before he turned 31 when he applied. So yeah, another $680 down the drain.
So this year, around April 2015 I believe, JR once again applied for his citizenship. His interview was scheduled last week (where he passed) and it was a surprise that a week after, his oath taking took place!

at the elevator on our way to the hall. When we arrived at the entrance, JR and I separated ways. And since I was pregnant, I was told to line up where the elderly were lining up. Sweet!

I was seated next to strangers, who are too noisy! Man, why do they come to oath taking and just make unnecessary noise! On my right though was a very quiet guy, who kept yawning, but he has bad breath :( I wanted to move to a different seat, but couldn't find any vacant seats nearby.
So after about the 2 hour oath taking ceremony, all the companions were asked to leave the hall and wait for the new citizens outside. These are all the people who came and supported the new US citizens. that.is.a.lot.

I liked how things were very organized. I was waiting near the stairs and people are not allowed to sit on the stairs. there were a number of ushers assisting people too.
After waiting for about 30 minutes, I finally saw my baby coming down the escalator! :)

After here, we went straight to our lawyer who will be taking care of my adjustment of status then had a mini celebration by having late lunch at Silverlake Ramen :)
