Learning stuff in the kitchen

Being a Mrs. in the US is not the same as being one in the Philippines. Why? Because in the Philippines you can have the luxury of having a yaya, cook and house help without having to spend so much!

One of the things that I looked forward to in being a wife is learning how to cook. Or more like, learning more dishes to cook. Back in MNL, I have lived away from my mom for over 3 years. I was renting an apartment in Makati with my co worker and friend, Joy. During those time, I was able to learn how to cook some dishes that I love. But since I work at night then, I tend to just buy cooked food from the nearby "carinderia" to save time in cooking. hehe.

But here in LA, I have all the time in the world. I told JR I would like to cook for him and he should be very honest if he likes it or not. He will be my critique.

Most of the dishes I made were fried, but I have also tried making Beef Steak filipino style which JR loved so much!!. hehe! Hey, it's a process!

Fried beef (marinated first) and eggplant

Again, eggplant and fried fish! lol with our signature sawsawan of tomatoes in soy sauce with lemon

My very own bistek tagalog and ginising beans and carrots!

I am excited and I am happy that so far, JR is happy with my cooking! hehe :D
